Bus delay prediction
Late, before it is late.
The model estimates how far behind schedule a bus will be at the stops ahead, while there is still time to act.
A delay is the gap between the plan and what happened. The timetable gives the plan. Vehicle location gives what happened.
The model learns how that gap tends to grow or shrink along a route and through the day. A useful prediction reaches riders as a better arrival time, and dispatchers as an early warning.
